This puts me in mind of “Frank and Ernest,” when “The Force Awakens” came out. They felt it would attract a younger audience if it starred Kylo Ren and Stimpy. What was really funny was, at the time the strip ran, more kids would know who Kylo Ren was than R&S. So “Frank & Ernest” was the comic strip equivalent of a “Dad joke.” (Yeah, I know… so what else is new?)
I have a confession to make. Even though Ren & Stimpy is an entertaining cartoon, I have never been able to watch it because the characters are so ugly. They gross me out.
