I know it was a different time with different sensibilities when this strip was drawn. But, I can’t help being a little freaked out about the lack of a helmet.
But my Mom was such a bad driver I wanted to wear a helmet in the car. I have no idea how many accidents she had….ummm, caused. I can’t even imagine the terror of being on a bike she was riding.
Wait, does she know how to duck? I mean that branch should have hit her in the face, probably in the chest. And at the speed they appear to be traveling, even though it’s kinda small it should have laid her out flat on the ground.
But it clearly missed her. So it looks like she ducked, which means she’s good at missing low branches and it’s Rerun who needs to learn how to miss them.

Mom must be a really tiny midget, if her baby sits taller than her on the bike!

Are there any Rerun strips which don’t have him riding in the back seat of his mom’s bicycle? Can’t think of any.

I can’t imagine what would happen if those branches were lower.
