From the Portland Cement MSDS:Portland cement is a light gray powder that poses little immediate hazard. A single short-term exposure to the dry powder is not likely to cause serious harm. However, exposure of sufficient duration to wet portland cement can cause serious, potentially irreversible tissue (including skin or eye) destruction in the form of chemical (caustic) burns, including third degree burns. The same type of tissue destruction can occur if wet or moist areas of the body are exposed for sufficient duration to dry portland cement.
I saw a show (Untold Stories of the ER) where a handyman made a cast for his broken ankle using cement: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0840227/ I remember the burns caused by exposure to the cement were a problem.

Mixed 1:1 with cornmeal, cement is an effective mouse/rat poison. Don’t let your pets get the mix, but if they find a carcass, it won’t harm them.

Reminds me of how the Spir_____ people were selling powdered sea shells. “They’re full of protein!” So is hair; don’t eat hair or sea shells.
