Any of you able to go back to church in person during this pandemic? Maybe go every other week (the other week doing it virtually/online)? I’ve been able to go every week for a few months already, but not this Sunday due to snowy roads which cancelled meetings (probably even virtual/online).
Until the present church I attend now, I was a big believer in Sunday School and this text never came up while I was this boy’s age. Now, as an adult, I’ve seen this section before but we didn’t think much of the “sighs”. This kid really gets into his Bible.

Remember though Linus, a prophet is not without honor except in his own home town… ( and with Lucy)

A Prophet speaks unto the wind for few will listen. But for those who do, they will learn wisdom.

Some versions of the Bible translate the “sighs” as “groanings.”
Charles Schulz usually quoted from the Revised Standard Version (RSV) as he does here.

Opt for Sunday School. Education for the Soul and that is what really counts in Life…..

Sighing is existential. And about the only reasonable response to the basic conundrum of human existence.

Meanwhile, back at “Peanuts”: Lucy the first thing they’ll teach you in Sunday School, is “Thou shall not slug thy Brother.”
kcgtsv almost 4 years ago
Definitely slug him. Sunday School is cruel & unusual punishment.
Buckeye67 almost 4 years ago
If she slugs him, he will come back with an appropriate scriptural response which will only infuriate her more.

You went to Sunday school, Lucy?
