Pats did just fine, damn them, in 2008 with Matt Cassel standing in for the injured Tom fellow, winning 11 of 15 starts. Missed the playoffs, which is one of those things that happens in OblongBall.
There can be only one Tom Tracy . They had a really great team the Patriots did and somehow it all went awry . And in their defense they keep all of the personal issues close in the organization and seldom explain anything to the fans .
For those baffled by “Dunning-Kruger Effect”: “The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability.” New teenage drivers, for instance.
How about we just say that Bill, Kraft, and Tom made a great team and had so much success that any other fan-base would envy. There may be some success apart but it won’t be to the same level, and that is cool. (No angst, no analysis needed.)
So, an elite quarterback goes to a team that pretty much has everything but the quarterback, while the team that lost him also lost a ton of free agents, has no cap space to replace that level of talent, and basically has to wait a year to start rebuilding, and this is supposed to prove something? Yeah Brady did better this year, but that doesn’t mean that Belichick won’t ever win any titles without Brady.
