There’s only one “up” left after step four….

Accurate simile is accurate.

First I laughed, then I cried.

(No, not really, but it has more dramatic effect than “First I laughed, then I got depressed.”)

Should have a pit at the bottom of the slide.

I never metaphor I didn’t like, but I might make an exception for this strip.

You’re missing the mud puddle at the end of the slide. Add a couple of dog turds to finish it off.

I don’t want to slide any more…

Life is always a ladder without the slide. However, the view gets better higher up…..

So…when you get to the top rung then things go downhill from there?

The top right is your 40s. it’s a down hill slide from there!

There is an English saying, “It’s all chutes and ladders.”

At least you can freely choose to climb that particular ladder… and know that you’re headed to go down eventually…
