I remember, some years back, wanting a 50" LED or Plasma screen, but the prices were at least $1500. So, I looked around and found an office projector and a 80" wide screen all for around $700. Now a friend of mine got a 55" LED for $278, but to replace the projector screen with an LED I’ll still need around $2-3,000.
“Most humans can see only a very minor improvement in picture quality between 1080 and 4K screens. This is because a 4K screen has about 8.3 million pixels but the human eye has only about 6 million “cones” which see color. Of those 6 million cones, there are blind spots and focus areas which further diminish the effective input of the human eye.”
BestBuy BlackFriday: 58 inch… 4K Samsung w/ a gorgeous TV stand, under $700; my previous TV was a 32 inch flatscreen (15 yrs) by Samsung. The way I felt…some of it could’ve been because of Covid, was go big or deal with that 32-inch…lol :^)

Not anymore we paid $4800 for a 48 inch plasma in the 90s now you can buy a bigger led smart tv for a mere 10% of that $4800.

Terrible sales job there; he must not be paid on commission.

4k ought to be old tech by now, regardless of price.

Went to best buy the other day. Saw an 8K Samsung oled tv. Probably both a spec and the price, but it was gorgeous.

Now why would you want to buy a 4K TV when there’s nothing on cable worth watching … anyway?!

I’d like a 5G phone but I’m not paying $5,000 for it.

Great picture but terrible sound because the speakers are in the back of the set.

Thorny, you lose if you spend that extra money.

For that money, this TV had better be made of gold and diamonds.
