I had a friend in law school who worked as a process server one summer. One of his more memorable tasks involved serving the then-prime minister of Canada regarding a legal dispute. He learned that the prime minister would be in town, and he got in the line of people who wanted to shake the prime minister’s hand. When his turn came, he stuck out his hand, holding the summons, and handed it off. When the prime minister asked “what’s this?”, he replied “Mister prime minister, you’ve been served!”. (and no, it wasn’t Justin Trudeau, this was many years ago).

My first wife had me served in front of all my employees. She was so sweet? Everyone knew my business.
