But, our fossil is Tullimonstrom Gregarium, the Tullymonstrom was “…an extinct genus of soft-bodied bilaterian (meaning their sides are perfect mirrors of each other, AKA, like humans are), that lived in shallow tropical coastal waters…” And most Illinoisians know we live on what was once pretty much a ginormouse swamp…so, Tullymonstrom rules.
Georgia is the shark tooth. Not the whole shark, as their bones are cartilaginous and rarely fossilize. Which is cool. I guess. Doesn’t beat the triceratops, though.

Similar to Nebraska, the state fossil of Washington is the Columbian mammoth.

Utah’s state fossil was the Allosaurus, but they changed it to the Utahraptor. At one time it was the trilobite.
