Also, after Trout’s Mom got Uncle Plumber to fix the faucet, Trout could stop fetching water from the Creek!

We used to improvise and make a lot of our toys when we were kids, like slingshots, or balance a racket or broom or such, on the palm of our hands and see who could balance it the longest, also we used to make our own kites then go on the rooftop to fly it, but making the kite was also part of the game, as well as when the string broke and we would send someone to go all over the neighborhood to go and find a kite

I had hand me down toys from my older brothers.. Toy truck with a crumpled fender so only 3 wheels turned, A jeep where the back had a big hole in it, like someone smashed a hammer through it. and the 3 wheeled race car. oh and I almost forgot the fisher price toy boat that was studded with nails someone hammered into it.

Two buckets a stick and a good imagination can keep one entertained for hours.

I remember playing for hours with some construction scraps while my dad remodeled a basement bedroom

We hadn’t moved in yet, the house was empty except for what dad was using

I didn’t think to bring toys, so I improvised

If the stick was long enough she could have been a milkmaid.

I used to love playing with the toys in my grandparents’ basement. They had been my uncle’s from the 1930s. Some of those were awesome. I still have a few.
