Rereading “The fifth elephant” by Terry Pratchett, Vimes is talking to the werewolves and has them flinching at the mention of bath rooms and lord vet inari, hysterical…
If you’ve ever had a dog that likes to play in snow you should know that they don’t just “dry off.” The snow packs into ice around their paws and stays on them for a long time after they come inside. Poor things can loose a limb if it’s not taken care of immediately by running warm water over the iced paws. Huskies have a unique fur for this which is why they don’t have this problem as I understand.
til the snow starts to disappear and the temps rise about freezing… then you have cold wet muddle paws on EVERYTHING (maremmas are like 120 pound huskies)

Snow does not a stinky dog prevent.Send him here. A 3-day storm just started that will drench him clean.

I had a Gorden Setter who loved to swim, would dive for rocks, etc. BUT he considered water in a tub or out of a hose sure death.
