In the ’70s & ’80s, I knew the head coach of every team, most all the players by number, and even many of the referees & umpires. These days, not so much.

When you nap during the game things can change drastically. I know from experience. Game jumps from 2nd quarter to 4th quarter. Oops!

And I thought “half-time” was when your employer cut your hours, but expected you to do the same amount of work.

Fall asleep during one game and wake up during the next. “Wait, what?”

For me it’s not because I forgot but because I dozed off for awhile.

I love to watch the game on tv, but once it’s over there is little I remember. I kind of remember the Saints on-side kick to start the second half. But, I’d have to stop and really think about who was in last year’s Super Bowl. Oh, yeah, kc.

A bunch of years ago, the Big Game was a blowout at the half. We had eaten and drank more than enough, so we called it a night. I got up the next day and saw that the other team had come back and won!

Doesn’t matter anyway, because I refuse to watch football anymore.

I solve that problem by cheering for the team on the right side of my TV screen. The score don’t matter.

American ‘Football’ is for pansies. Rugby is more like it.

I asked my grandpa, “What’s the score?” He answered “12-9.” Who’s winning, I wanted to know. “Twelve”, he replied.

I complained to my dad about my memory, and he said "Don’t worry about it until you walk into the bathroom and say to yourself “Now what did I come in here for?”"

Some of us don’t have to wait until halftime to forget which team is which, or even which teams are playing, and what did I come in this room for anyway?
