And running out of things to say

She gave a kiss to me as I got out

And I watched her drive away

Just for a moment I was back at school

And felt that old familiar pain

And as I turned to make my way back home

The snow turned into rain… ♪♫

It did that here today. But at this time of year NO ONE is running around shouting “It’s snowing!” with glee.

Those of us a bit further north do not share Janis’s joy. This past week or so has been a test of character. Neighbors did come together to keep our streets and walkways open.

I’ve got over 4" of snow from yesterday to clear and the forecast calls for another 4" tonight. I know what I’ll be doing this morning and tomorrow morning as well.

I’d be happy for the snow1

Past few days it has gotten above 40, 52F yesterday. All roads dry, huge line for car washes. SO of course it has to snow today to make more money for the car washers.

Why was she happy?

Janis is like a middle school student looking out the window of the classroom. First sign of snowfall, those kids go nuts and demand early dismissal only to have their raised hopes dropped when the snow turns to rain minutes later.

We don’t shovel rain where I live.

You don’t have to shovel rain . . .

I wonder if the Shrimp and her family will ever be back?

yeah…I have a Tshirt that says “Let it Snow!” I haven’t dared to wear it lately..Next Year!

The good news is, the rain is sticking!

Latent feet of dissociation…

Even Polly Cat. The other day it snowed. She demanded to go out. She sat on the porch, twitching her tail in annoyance for about ten minutes before she demanded to be let in.

Don’t have to shovel rain.

The virus protocol has gotten to Janis.

My wife and I have 2 degrees. We are a paradox.

i’m so sick of snow, that I boo the snow and cheer the rain.

I thought Janis hated being cold—and snow is the definition of ‘cold’ outside.

After more than 40" since January 1, I’d welcome rain instead of more snow.

It’s really windy in The OC today. Does that count?

It was 35 degrees this morning for our early morning daily walk and there was a lot of patchy black ice on the streets. We have very high piles of snow where the plows put it, and as the piles were melting on the street, the meltoff turned into invisible ice. We walk around dawn. We gave up after a mile or two. It was nice to have a warmer morning, even if a dangerous one.

Sure there’s much joy when you don’t have to shovel it.

Doesn’t snow much in Louisiana, does it? Here neither. We got a couple of dustings this year.

We’ve got two feet of snow on the ground, so we don’t run around, happily yelling, “It’s snowing”!

That’s south Texas sloppy wet snow if any. More sleet and ice than snow.

I hope we don’t see anymore snow until December

LOL Where I live we celebrate when snow turns into rain.

It snowed here this morning and the sun came out and melted it all away

I know how Janis feels. We rarely get more than a dusting. We got 2.5 inches a couple weeks ago. Now it’s raining and in the upper 60’s. Flood warnings out.

It’s 85 degrees here in Florida this afternoon. I haven’t seen snow since 2008 when I drove up to Ohio for my mom’s funeral.

This tells me they might live in Wake County, North Carolina.

Jimmy, if it makes you feel any better, there were many who did not see any snow. Zero. And usually this would be a good caricature of a southerner.

We had 18 inches of snow in one storm over 3 days in January. Husband and I were clearing it for a week after and entire section of the driveway was not touched at that time leaving our RV/Chevy Conversion van inaccessible – but also unneeded. Since then the pattern has been 2 days of snow, day off, 2 days of snow…

At one point in mid February we were to have a heavy wind and ice storm. Husband panics over snow, hurricanes, wind, etc – basically anything which can cause us to lose electricity and heat – lose of heat can also lead to pipes bursting and flooding basement – though never has yet. Normally I help him with deal with this by saying “we can always spend the evening in the RV with the heat on and watch some TV with the antenna” and then come in to sleep in the house but there was no access to the RV as we had never cleared the original storm and the other storms had piled up on top of that one – so we went and cleared around the RV – hard, heavy, frozen packed snow – down to the point where the RV doors could open and the 2 exhaust pipes (car/generator) were clear in case we had to go in there to keep warm. Luckily we did not need it – but if having ready makes him feel better…

So very glad when the temperature goes up those few degrees – then again, I did get the car stuck in the mud when the temperature rose from 20s/low 30s F to 54F for the day.
