That’s why you need the cat Fred! We have a Rat Terrier and a Toy Fox Terrier. We joke that since we still have rats in our garden and our out buildings the Rat Terrier is slacking off but since we have no foxes, the Toy Fox Terrier is doing her job! Love dogs!
You need to find Kitty and have him stay for awhile and take care of that little problem. The mice will learn quickly a cat is on patrol and will give your house a wide berth.
The last time we saw a mouse in our house, my 17-year old cat was in my lap and he saw it too … he lifted his head, looked at it, then put his head back down and went back to sleep. I could almost hear him say it: “I’m too old for this stuff!”
We’ve had 2 hounds. My brother let the first one play with my hamster. He never hurt it, but the poor thing was so traumatized that he went to an early grave. The second one caught a mole while we were out walking and had no idea what to do with it. He looked up at me and I knew something was odd. I told him to drop it, and the mole took off unharmed. After that I called him Shadow the mighty hunter!

Maybe you should think twice before you chase Mrs. Burton’s cat away like you did yesterday.

Fred, I am so disappointed in you. Even Yorkie would go after that little mouse!
