I seem to recall some Pogo character (Churchy?) remarking in passing that someone is the “neckless type” but “Not no neck!”—she just likes to wear diamond necklesses, pearl necklesses . . . But that was probably five or six decades ago. Today’s strip adds a charming new wrinkle to a very old pun.
