Wallace—flick the spider off of Spud, then tell Spud why.

Spud, you’re not helping your case. Amelia WANTS the shovel for the same reason she WANTS the brick. And that reason is completely independent of whether or not there really IS a spider…

This has to be one of the best strips on Gocomics and Spud is the most unique character.

Amelia is seeing a golden opportunity here.

Pedantic mode on. No spider is poisonous. You can eat spiders and not be poisoned. All spiders have venom, but there are only a couple in North America that are medically significant. Pedantic mode off.

Wallace may be a trusting optimist who likes to think the best of everybody…but he still wasn’t born yesterday, Amelia.
