When it’s finally safe to socialize again, I’m not sure I’ll remember how to fake being sociable.

But you’ll already have the first step covered: a ready-made topic of conversation.

And don’t forget, you’re leading a human life: Paradoxes ‘R’ Us! Two of the main ones:

Admitting the truth and saying, “I don’t know,” is the beginning of wisdom, and:

If you want to be happy, work at making someone else happy. Your own happiness will automatically follow.

I am an introvert and find meeting new people very awkward…it’s also ironic that you can’t spell, Introvert with out, Intro!

I think a lot of us can sympathize. I like the company of myself and my family ~~ very few people beyond that. But I pretend. Sometimes we just have to be actors in the play of Life.

I get this. I’m an antisocial introvert. What’s my job? I teach public speaking at a local university.

But if you leave the house, Ric will get lonely and rip everything to pieces. Do you want that?

I thought that the whole reason to have books was so that I don’t have to socialize?

My social circle consists of two roommates who rarely leave their rooms, and the staff at the neighborhood thrift store.

Oh, and wish me luck! I told one of the thrift store ladies that this weekend I plan on finally cutting fabric for my first quilt in 20 years, and my first full size quilt EVER. She said she believes I mean to, but I won’t (she has good reason to say this, she wasn’t being mean). Anyway, I have taken that as a challenge, so by Monday morning I plan on having at LEAST four blocks cut and ready to sew.

I had to tell someone, so that I don’t wimp out again, so you all lucked out. Why is making that first cut so HARD?

Oh, and now I get it – the reason for socializing in spite of having books is to get other people to recommend new books! I might have to try that one day…
