I have to agree I know people who demand you look right in there face when they talk to you. I do also get the other end. People who talk to me while I have head phones on while not facing my direction while walking away from me and expect me to hear them. And there’s also the person who thinks if they have free time that I also have free time and the person who can not understand me at all if I misstype a word.
If most people got a list of 100 things their partner likes about them, and a list of 3 trivial things he/she doesn’t like, most people would probably obsess over the 3 things.
Ditto the idea that anyone deserves to know everything about you—or that anyone even has some kind of right to come right out and demand that you tell them everything. Some stuff is nobody else’s business, no matter how close the two of you are.

These days, it’s a worse idea than usual for two people to touch their eyes together.

Response to Panel 2: A very crazy thing. Asking her opinion of you:-D. Or finding a telepath to scan her mind I guess.

Thank you, Max. Apparently I’m not listening to someone if I’m not staring deep into their eyes.

how wise of you, Max, except for the eye contact part (once in a blue moon)

That’s what I’ve told my wife more than once. Usually just causes more trouble, though.

You’re right, Max. The old aphorism “Actions speak louder than words” is an old aphorism for that very reason.

Eye contact is overrated.

For some it is just really strange to “stare” at someone while talking

For those of us on the autistic spectrum, eye contact can often be very difficult. But we are also often great listeners.

I know this is just a strip, but the idea of listening in to someone’s therapy uninvited, especially for selfish reasons, is repugnant.

That last panel is just wow. I feel seen! Or, y’know, would, other than the whole eye contact thing lol

Max speaks the truth! If Mari didn’t like Phoebe, I don’t think she’d be hanging out with her that much. :)
