Toby kind of reminds me of a curmudgeonly magazine editor whose magazine I used to read. His editorials would often read something like this: you’re all a bunch of idiots and sheep and if you buy my book (for $20) I’ll tell you why that is the case.

Life is filled with bears, Goldilocks.

I see Toby’s comment in the eyes of all of those under the age of 30 when I comment on any conversation that they are having. Especially when I am around my granddaughter’s friends (they are teenagers). So I do not comment much just smile and think “I guess most if not all humans have to learn about life the hard way”. I do know that when I reached 21 my dad became – overnight – one of the wisest men I know. Up until then he really didn’t know what life was about at all! (Yep, overnight!!! lol)
