The ocean water off the coast of Maine was around 55° – 60° most of the year when I was living there – felt cold in the summer but warm in the winter – you jump out of the car in your swimsuit when it’s 30°, run to the water and jump in – it felt like a warm bath.
It was in the 80’s here and sunny. I’m sure the gulf of Mexico would be below what I’m used to but then I won’t go in my own pool until its a cozy 90 degrees F.

They are breaking the ice out of our park for a winter plunge this weekend. It was supposed to be on Valentine’s Day, but it was -8F.
