I cannot tell you how many decades I thought the phrase was “intensive purposes.” It never really made sense to me, but I never bothered to look it up.
I think theoretical physics goes further and says time is an illusion…that there isn’t really a past, a present or a future. (Layman here, DON’T quote me!)
