There are still far too many people that refuse to use passphrases and a password safe application like Keypass. Some people even are stupid enough to use the same password for different sites.
This is a profound lack of basic skill for using “smart” devices like cellphones, computers or tablets.
Computers still are not smart, they are at least as dumb as the programmer of the skill it claims to have. Or worse: as dumb as the most stupid person in the chain of command above that programmer.
I always have to keep another device handy with my password repository on it. Google “password repository”. Get one. Use it. For Heaven’s sake, protect it with a password as long as a familiar phrase like “NotGivingAwayMy PasswordOnAForum”.
I use a systematic password scheme: one memorable phrase involving a number and capitals, with the first few letters of each specific site woven into it.

Quite interesting and timely. Last week, GoComics refused my password and had me change it. This week it went back to the old password.

I think identify thieves and other cyber criminals should be hunted down; for the first offense, cut off his/her right hand.
(The singular “their” just doesn’t sound right.)

If she does the same on her tablet, she still needs her password. I do my banking on my laptop and phone. Still need name and password.

I use a notebook to remember all the passwords I have. At least it doesn’t work with power.
