I used to know a standard poodle whose owner did this. The man had one of those throwing sticks, and would stand there with his arm cocked for way too long before throwing the ball. Eventually, the dog got tired of waiting, raced around behind him, jumped straight up about seven feet, plucked the ball out of the cup, raced around in front of the man, dropped it at his feet, backed up a couple steps, and barked at him.

That’s one way to keep your whites nice and white.

Dogs and balls…

For my Golden Retriever it was “Dogs and Sticks” preferably thrown into a lake. Forever!!

Hooray for baseball season!

Louie is an intelligent retriever. He knows what going on.

Our dog may have been part retriever – but that wasn’t her gig. If we threw something, she’d watch it go and then look back at us with an expression of, “who? me? Nah.” Then come in for some head scratching.
