Tried the joke about “Now that women are allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia I have yet another reason not to visit there.” Thought the group of SJW I was with were going to croak but mostly from a mixed set stifled laughter and trying to be indignant.
I was reading a book (about interjections, oddly enough) yesterday which included the phrase “In these days of political correctness…” talking about no longer making jokes that denigrated people for their culture or for the colour of their skin. And I thought, “That’s not actually anything to do with ‘political correctness’. That’s just treating other people with respect.” Which made me oddly happy. I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase “politically correct” wherever we could with “treating other people with respect”, and it made me smile. You should try it. It’s peculiarly enlightening. I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking “Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!”—Neil Gaiman
Fat shaming is still alive and well with the pandemic crowd as there always needs to be at least one “bad” group that people can point at and feel virtuous.
just more of our rights being taken away. its beyond ridiculous and absurd. and its unamerican. dont do this dont say that. get rid of books. get rid of history. sit during the anthem. dont say god in school. live in fear every day. fake news, gloom and doom, depressing info. inaccurate incomplete opinioned stories . whew. sorry i had to blow off some steam. have a good day everyone. stay away from the news.
I’ve seen people define themselves as chubby in pictures when they’re really not. We can be our own worst critics. But, male or female, like these women leaning forward over their shopping cart, their abdominal viscera hanging between…it’s just gross.

This might be funnier if one person said it to another. The oversized sign blocking the sidewalk looks ridiculous.

We look for flaws in others to momentarily distract ourselves of our own shortcomings. (Sorry to wax serious twice in one day!)

That sign is enough excuse for me not to do opera, not that I need an excuse.

Just waiting for someone to suggest that saying “weight-challenged” implies a standard, which is discriminatory against the individual…
