On an entirely separate note, who’s tending to Alex? Mike surely didn’t drag her halfway across the country so she could see for herself how ill her mom is but AFAIK the only people Mike knows in Oregon are his co-workers and I doubt he’d have much luck there. Bernie’s an old friend, sure, but I’m unaware of any reason to think that he’s good with children.

Zonker, presuming he was even “there” in the first place (his presence in Oregon was “fourth-wall-break”-related), has surely returned to his role as Samantha’s caregiver in…California, where Boopsie’s still an “active” actress and B.D.‘s still her agent, right? Then again, if B.D.’s her agent, what’s Sid’s job? Well, never mind that.

At most hospitals, only family members are allowed to visit. That was one reason my much older wife decided we should get married.
