Decades later, Berke Breathed would have Opus douse a smoker with a fire hose.

I wonder if he knew about this strip?

1. Glad to helps ya, officer.

2. Bozo isn’t smoking today. No cigar when on fireman duty.

3. Bozo finds a new gal pal. But waits, not the one he thinks.

And once again, another entertaining day at Foxovile. Great artwork with great expressions and body language, background details, and great perspectives. Even though a rerun from the late 40’s, Bozo is the best comic I reads today.

The umbrella gets lost in the horizon line. At least two of my art teachers would have taken off points if I’d done that. A rare opportunity for a Gotcha.

1. They sure don’t make clubs the way they used to.

The art detail is really stands out on the 2nd and 3rd strips. The way the smoke and building in #2 and the water in #3.

1 Bozo never jailbreaks because the cook at the station house is pretty good.

2 Mighty Bozo can handle his fire hose all by himself. Usually a two-person job which is why the non-smoking fireman got sent flying when when the smoker let go.

3 Bozo hooks up with another classy dame.

1) Legalese: Bozo wants to help the police catch that crimina and hands over 2 iron bars from the jail by Bozo.

2) Fire Fighting: When Bozo see’s one puffing away on a smoking pipe he expertly quenches the fire with the powerful water stream.

3) Beach Blanket Bozo" Bozo finds another honey but is fobbed off an a more Rubenesque lady while she goes to her man.

Everyone needs a break today.

1) Bozo’s giving the cop a break for a change.

2) “If I can break the smoking habit while fighting a fire, so can you!”

3) Break away, Bozo. I doubt that she can run as fast as you.

The girl looks like the one in the comic book ad who went off with the guy in panel 3 who kicked sand into the weakling’s face. I didn’t realize the two had the less attractive friend they offered up as a consolation prize.
