And what spectacular artwork today. What a great three dimensional depths that’s rendered in drawings on two dimensional paper.
Such wonderfully excellent artwork, and the comic itself is entirely dependent on artwork alone, with no words whatsoever spoken by any character in the comic.
Once again, a big thumbs up for the master cartoonist Foxo Reardon’s marvellous masterpiece, the wordless wonder called Bozo!
1) Oh the things that the Umbrella Guy has seen. 2) Taking an advantage of a bad situation. 3) Just plane distracted. And the police are still chasing Umbrella Guy.
I don’t know if Foxo did it on purpose, but if you look at Bozo’s shadow on strip 3, the sun is definitely in the direction he was looking in panel 3, and maybe planes like that were so unusual as to distract him in addition. In strip 1, I would think Umbrella Guy would sleep sometime, but if he does, he sleeps standing up in a tree holding his bumbershoot. In panel 4 where Bozo is so nonplussed the cigar stub falls out of his mouth is a nice touch.
I love how Foxo portrays Bozo in so many professions and circumstance….a true jack of all trades, and master of none!!!! #3 ‘Air Minded’ reminds me of watching a little league game with the little ones ’picking daisies….so easily distracted.

1 Great art in this one. 2 Well placed handrail. 3 Hard to see those balls when the sun is behind them.

1 Bozann’s father headed off to his night job.
2 Bozo the Plumber decides it doesn’t have to be all that dirty a job after all.
3 Bozo had his eye on it all the way. Too bad ‘it’ turned out to be a plane.

1. But quiet what thief doth yonder window breaks.
2. Yikes. That’s more than what the average plumber exposes.
3. Bozo distracted by aircraft. Can’t blames him as he a war veteran.

Sometimes Bozo’s single-minded and concentrated. Then there’s today.

Robbers and hand guns sure seemed to play a big part in the daily routine of the 1940’s.

1) Night Time visit: Bozo arrives for a romantic meeting with his girl and brings a ladder. Unfortunately it aids a crook climbing down.
2) Fix It/Clean It: Bozo sees a water leak. He makes use of it to shower.
3) Hit and a Miss: Bozo confused by an airplane and the sun misses the easy catch as a baseball pitcher.
