1 Bozo didn’t want to chance having to pay for an extra ticket.
2 Fortunately, Stephen King was a long way from writing about sewer clowns at this point in time.
3 The Armed Forces still remembered Bozo’s WWII record and decided to let him sit out the Korean War. Luckily, he found a unit with a uniform that fit him.
“Made it” reminds me of two things – the first being those videos showing urban runners getting off a train at a station, and beating it to the next one* , and the second being one of the lesser known stories of famous lunatic (in a good way) Jack Churchill, who after WWII used to bemuse fellow passengers by throwing his briefcase out the train window – what they did not know was that the train line passed his house, and he was throwing it into his yard rather than having to carry it all the way back from the station.
*which in turn reminds me of back in the day where you could hack the local train systems ticket prices by catching a train to a station, walking back to the original one, catching it again, and so forth – after a short period you’d qualify for free travel for the rest of the week. Good times.
1. Bozo so fast he overtake train and wait for it in station.
2. Unfortunately things happening these days may brings back this sorta fears.
3. You got to be this tall to serve in the armed forces, Bozo. Otherwise it’s boy scouts for you.
…
These are such great fun and meaningful comics which are so lovely and beautifully drawn. They never fail to cheer to me up on any day.
And of course it would be grave injustice if I don’t give this its due kudos. Here’s another big thumbs up, a big applause, and three cheers for the marvellous master FoXo’s marvellous masterpiece, the pleasant picturesque pantomime, the ever entertaining evergreen entertainer BOZO!
As the producer of “Bozo,” I would like to invite all Bozo followers, especially those new to the strip, to read my interview with GoComics: “A Firsthand History of ‘Bozo’, The World’s First Pantomime-Style Strip,” by clicking the “GoComics Blog” at the bottom of this page and scrolling down a bit. And for a more comprehensive history of Bozo and its creator, Foxo Reardon ( my dad) please see The Daily Cartoonist’s excellent article “Bozo By Foxo” at https://www.dailycartoonist.com/index.php/2021/07/27/bozo-by-foxo/ Both GoComics and The Daily Cartoonist are under the Andrews McMeel Universal umbrella. Strip 3: To be fair to Bozo, he fought both the Nazis and the Japs for the four years of World War II within the pages of the Richmond (Virginia) Times-dispatch and was rewarded with international syndication at War’s end in 1945 by the Chicago Sun Times Syndicate. Bozo was carried by The Stars and Strips, the newspaper of the United States Armed Forces and was very popular with our men and women in uniform. A hundred of those War time Bozo strips can be found in my book, "Whistling Down the Halls: “The Times and cartoons of America’s Original Pantomime Comic Strip Artist,” a 260 page book which contains about 800 cartoons including 500 syndicated Bozo strips, and is available from amazon.com, WalMart.com and other Internet outlets.
MADE IT- I notice not only is Bozo “Faster than a speeding train!” Old Fuzzy is pretty fast too he “hopped” the train and riding it on top of the mail car." MIND OVER MATTER- reminds me of the late 50’s & early 60’s with the salesmen coming door to door selling FALL OUT Shelters in my neighborhood. I remember my Mom saying she did not think she could go in a shelter leaving her neighbors to perish. “DUCK & COVER!” DUTY CALLS-I was an adult BSA Leader while I was in the Air Force, most of the leaders were ex or serving military.
3: I think it was Dan Dailey, at the end of a Lux Radio Theater episode, who replied to his leading lady’s announcement that she was doing a show for Navy Relief, “I did my part for Navy Relief. Boy, were they relieved when I joined the Army.”

1) The real origin of the Flash. 2) Sadly Bozo it can happen all over again. 3) Bozo stands tall in any uniform.

My way. My God! My gang. Women love a man in uniform. Well most of them do. …well some of them do. Okay, most strippers do. …OKAY?

1) The train was not THAT fast.
2) At least Bozo’s size permits him to take shelter easily.
3) Boy scouts welcome everyone! (or anyone?)

∿¹~ It looks like Bozo’s been training.
∿²~ 5½ years later and still making an impact.
∿³~ That’s no way to treat a veteran!

1. Hey conductor, no time to talk. I gotta catch the train!
2. Bozo found a bomb shelter, I got one just like it outside my house. In my, er, current condition, I don’t fit in there anymore.
3. Bozo decided he wasn’t gonna get kick around anymore and join where they will appreciate him (maybe?).

1. Bozo wanted to catch the last train to Clarksville. 2. That just backfired! 3. Aren’t you too old for the Boy Scouts?

1) TRAIN RUSHING: For a short guy Bozo can run remarkably fast and uses it to catch
2) IF YOU THINK IT: Bozo sees as marquee about nuclear bombs. He hears a loud pop of a tire and is seen hiding under the street!
3) FINDING YOUR FIT: Bozo keeps getting literally kicked out of offices. We see his is a good fit in the Boy Scouts!
