Bozo never fails to bring cheers and joy. The best drawn best funnies ever. Big thumbs up, big applause, and three cheers for the marvellous master FoXo’s magnificent masterpiece, the pleasant picturesque pantomime, the ever entertaining ever energetic evergreen entertainer BOZO!
Created in 1921, Bozo, the original pantomime comic strip, was published weekly in the Richmond (Virginia) Times-Dispatch from 1925 to 1945. Bozo fought both the Nazis and the Japs for the four years of World War II within the pages of the Times-dispatch and was rewarded with international syndication at War’s end in 1945 by the Chicago Sun Times Syndicate.
The strip was carried by Stars and Stripes, the newspaper of the United States Armed Forces and was very popular with our men and women in uniform. A hundred of those War time Bozo strips can be found in my book, "Whistling Down the Halls: “The Times and cartoons of America’s Original Pantomime Comic Strip Artist,”a 260 page book which contains about 800 cartoons by Foxo Reardon, (my dad) including 500 syndicated Bozo strips, and is available from amazon.com, Walmart.com, bearmanormedia.com, booksamillion.com, barnesandnoble.com, and other Internet outlets. If ordering, please search by entering both website and the name of Foxo Reardon together.
If Bozo is new to you, please consider following the strip for a couple weeks or so to get to know him, and if you do,I feel sure you will fall in love with him and become a regular follower. Many thanks!
Automatically Problematic. Ranging your piece. Selflessly inflicted wound. Sometimes you don’t know the cure is worse than the disease until you try it.
CATS & DOGS- Solo becomes a Duet. WEIGHTLY PROBLEM- BOZO should come down South for our Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest. LOADED- Good reason to not smoke. I see Fuzzy got a KICK out of riding a horse.
1) WHEN THE CURE IS WORSE: Noisy cat send a dog to handle it. Bozo finds the noise is worse as a consequence.
2) COOL BEANS: Careless shooting beans with a peashooter into his yard causes Bozo to get worried when some person carrying an umbrella looks in. (Fuzzy) And starts putting bean signs in his yard just-in-case.
3) BOMBAD BOZO: Bozo offers a free cigar to his police nemesis who refuses. (Bozo has done this before.) So, Bozo takes one puff and throws it behind him exploding at the cop’s feet!
1. Cats & dogs can get along, unbeknownst to Bozo. 2. Corn, oats, beans, peas, and barley grow. (Bozo’s trying it the sucker way.) 3. Don’t scare cops!

1 Gee Bozo, at least the cat shut up.
2 The hard part is spotting where he planted them.
3 Gee, you’d think the cops didn’t trust Bozo. (Umbrella Guy seems to have taken up the sport of mule surfing. Certainly getting a kick out of it.)
