Today Arlo and I are at odds. I shave almost every day. I was never comfortable having stubble catch on my collar. Plus, if you got it, don’t cover it up.
If I don’t shave by the third day, my electric razer protests, but I’m with Arlo. If you don’t go out, why shave. Isn’t the hair stubbled face considered sexy? Manly? Yeah, I’m not in my 20’s though.
I have always disliked beards of any kind on my men. Same reason as Janis. No fun hugging or anything else for that matter. That said I like the “look” of some beards on men but from a distance which is fine for me these days as there isn’t a man in my life anymore.
I grew and maintained a well trimmed beard for a few years (mustache for 54 years) and then shaved it off. A couple weeks ago, my wife informed me that she missed the beard. So, now I’m at the prickly stage, growing it back.
Normal week we might wear masks twice. We both wear masks when we go to pickup Chinese food – mine then gets thrown (in a sealed plastic bag) down the basement steps to be washed as I am the one who walks in and picks up the order. Husband wears one also – but unless someone else is walking in the parking lot and comes near him, his is just reused.
Might go out somewhere once during the week – every month to month + half or more we go out grocery shopping, twice every 3 months pick up prescriptions at Walmart & buy fill in food while there (take walk around the store – needed shoe laces once, new pens another time, he needed an extension cord once & such) & wear our masks for these errands – then in the bag and down the stairs to the basement for washing. Two visits to the doctor & one (so far) for vaccinations – again in bags & down steps to be washed. We have taken 4 trips to the park to walk around (again – in bags and down the steps) Two trips to BJs and one to Costco, needed new tires before winter per our mechanic( again….). Car, van or RV to mechanic we drop off late night and throw keys in envelope in a slot; when ready I pay by credit card on the phone and they leave the keys and invoice on the visor for us to pick up late night and we walk home after dropping off or walk there to pick up – bring masks, but no one else walking, so haven’t needed. On our late Sunday night somewhat less than weekly trips to post outgoing mail we bring the masks but have never needed them as no one else out (I did say late night for car and mail trips out).
We did wear our masks in the house when heating oil company sent someone for annual maintenance and when the telephone company forced us to change our service and their guy had to come in the house and then washed masks also.
But we don’t wear them often enough for husband to even have the thought of not shaving (would be interesting – never seen him unshaven). Why do women wear lipstick under their masks?

“No soup for you!” I wasn’t really a Seinfeld fan but I think a lot of people saw the “Soup Nazi”. If so, then you get the point. Lol

And the good reason is? Because Janis isn’t into rough sex.

I was in the Army and worked for the Army for 35 years. I like clean shaven men. Just a personal preference. Can’t like beards.

I shave every fourth day now, in the mask era!
Seems ok with my spouse!

I’ve asked the same thing about lipstick…..

I like clean shaven, but a beard is ok IF it has grown out enough to be past stabbing phase. Nothing romantic about whisker burn.

You’ve heard of “No tickee, no laundry”? Well how about “No shavee, no whopee”.

My wife doesn’t mind a beard long enough to not “sandpaper” her thighs. But I shave smooth first.

I shave when I want to. I’m single and the ladies I encounter IRL are not interested in going cheek-to-cheek anyway.

There is a lot of whisker play happening behind the mask these days.

I thought about growing a COVID beard when stay-at-home orders began. It would have been down to my chest by now if I had….

One of the advantages of having a full beard: if you tie a sloppy knot in your tie, who’s going to know?

The vote is in. The thighs have it.

The hair gets in the way of the fit of the mask. For me I don’t like facial hair so I shave it off.

Totally understand Arlo here. However … wife totally understands Janice, so I shave. :-)
