This reminds me of the early days of mainframe development when we in the engineering division were using our first generation of remote time-sharing CRT terminals. All of our support software source code and been moved onto drum storage and we were editing and compiling it on the terminals. The internal IT division was our anathema and they still kept their source code on punch card decks in their desk drawer, held together with rotting rubber bands.
