Curious, how this nine-year-old strip is so current.

My favorite bookstores and music shops were run out of converted houses. Charm from one end to the other, with personal service from people who were passionate about what they sold. Gone. All gone.

Buggy whips, once the basis for a proud and thriving domestic industry, has been decimated by corporate greed and cheap foreign imports. So sad.

Gosh, ya mean if I spend my money on stuff from a major corporation that has no footprint at all in my community instead of spending a dollar or two more businesses I love will go away, the local economy will nosedive, and customer service will vanish from the face of the earth? Who knew? And why are my taxes going up faster than my property value is going down, and my neighbors are losing their jobs?

Looks like someone in America needs to start a microchip company to supply the automakers, there is still a shortage. I just heard GM is cutting overtime.

Now, if only there were some way to monetize comic strips …
