…I see this as a plus, actually. Because then the puffball is going to be getting all the “attention” while LDL is spared all of it, AND is given a possible chance to slip away for good.
If he’s so inclined—you have to remember that LDL tends to be loyal to a fault.

Wasn’t the little girl outside the house? I doubt Floofykins did LDL any favors. More likely he tossed him under the bus.
