Walking at average speed in forgiving terrain would take someone 5 hours to walk 20 miles. Uphill in the snow, I imagine longer. Either Walt’s mind is completely gone or he should make his hyperbole a little more believable. Actually it’s both of those.
Seems to me that the real Bub Walters is getting off real easy with crashing a plane into The Flash’s newsroom as a practical joke, but we put that behind us for Beach Day!
Brenda and Abretha go for a swim, only to run into the daring young man on the flying trapeze… is it time to chuck this newspaper rat race and run off to join the Wirlagee Circus?
Even after trying the Hangman’s noose on for size, Rick just can’t bring himself to take it on the lam. Luckily Hipshot’s hogleg has an excellent counter-argument.
Hidden out back in Conniption, Rick’s friends ponder how to prove his innocence, because western justice is harsh and all.
When I was a kid, my mother claimed to had to have walked 5 miles to school, in good weather and in bad.
In first and second grade, I walked about 1½ miles to school. But, in bad weather, one of the parents on our block would give us a ride. It wasn’t unusual to get a ride in good weather.
i grew up in Providence RI and our Catholic school kicked us off the bus starting in 5th grade so had to walk and actually googled it to find out that for those years actually walked 1.8 miles to school one way…until we started high school, and then we took a regular city bus
Hey Alley Cats – I just stumbled across a newcomer to GoComics, though it’s a strip from the 40’s and 50’s. It’s called Bozo (no relation to Larry Harmon’s clown) by Foxo Reardon. I am not familiar with this one at all, but it seems to be a “silent” strip much like Henry and The Little King back in the day, or for the most part, Lio in the current titles.
Give a look and if you’re amused add it to your favorites so it can stick around until you get a better sense of the humor.
