My mother is still friendly with my sister’s ex-husband but luckily, she’s never invited him over to Thanksgiving, Christmas or any other kind of dinner, for that matter. Unlike Cathy’s mother, mine holds no grand illusion that my sister and her ex will ever get back together again because they’ve both moved on in their lives with other people.
