Not only do they all kind of look the same, but the colors are blah.

Buy an American made foreign car, like a Toyota or a Honda. :-)

Jeez, Cathy, stop toying with the salesguy. Although, considering how they mess around with us… eh, go ahead, have fun! p.s. If all the cars feel the same, then buy the one that you can afford and you love driving. My husband wanted me to get a fancy, expensive car last time because that’s what he liked, but I didn’t love driving it so I got my current one, and I’m still happy driving it every day. Considering how much we (or at least I am) are in our cars, you should be happy with what you’re driving. I have a friend who has a PT Cruiser, and although it breaks down all the time, he loves it and refuses to get another car that’s better made. Good morning, simpsonfan, Susan, gmforde (funny how you have 2 American car companies in your name, but advocate buying foreign companies’ cars ;-)) and Aaron (I’m assuming you’re typing as I am, or will be here soon)!!Too bad there were only crumbs of lemon bars left this morning after everyone eating them last night… they sure looked delish!Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMona, Bronzepony, Hobbes and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

No, not with shoes. I can tell the difference from one to another. Mostly the current crop of ‘new’ styles are butt ugly and look like they weigh a ton. That being said, sending the Sales Guy off like that is just plain naughty.

Morning Susan I finally arrived, after sleeping in unitl about 9:30. It’s gonna take time getting used to my overnight shift again. Morning lightenup 9 minutes, plus my reading comments and making my own. Hi KFG if you stop by.

    hi mom!

We’ve only ever had well-used cars before the current one, so there was no trying on for size involved. He just bought what was available and practical when the previous one died. The one he’s driving now was chosen for its eco-friendly qualities, so he knew exactly what he wanted before he went to the dealer. We both hate hard-sell salespeople!

Hi all. Way to go Cathy. Don’t back down and buy something you’re not happy with just because a pushy saleman tries to confuse you by mentioning a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles.

Sally is alive and well in my Florida paper, and “OregonLive.com” Sally is planning Jackie’s wedding to Ralph, of all people.

Sorry Gocomics, just sharing the love.

Told my daughter to be sure to read “Cathy” this week, as she is looking at new cars, and needs a good laugh.

    Hi clan members

Good to “see” you all and read your comments – sorry my head goes blank when it comes to cars, I keep them apart only from their color.

    Revised rant:

Here’s a sound tip for you Cathy — hold on to your Apple stock.

Apple stock is down 23+, around noon. They were off as much as 28, so around $570/share instead of yesterday’s $600+. Proof that Wall Street is lamer than Cathy can ever be. So what’s the problem? Apple made only $30 gazillion instead of $31 gazillion last quarter.

So the [lame] analysts declare that Apple did not meet expectations and proceed to sink the stock. Yet no other company comes close to doing what Apples does in sales as consistently, except oil companies but that’s another rant. LOTS of people are holding off for the iphone 5 (me being one of them) and a new iPad ‘mini’ are in the offing.

If I had a spare thousand, I’d be buying buying buying. And don’t forget about the multi-gazillion of us (I know there are a few here) who have bought Apple products, helping them make their record quarters over and over again.

rgcviper you should see me now — I can beat any eyeroll you ever did for Cathy :-D

I don’t know about today’s new cars but we’ve got a Ford Explorer and a Honda Accord — both are 13 years old now — and let me tell you, they do NOT feel alike to me!!! I absolutely love driving the Honda. It feels so comfortable and natural to me when I’m behind the wheel. But that Explorer . . . I absolutely hate driving that thing and I always have! I feel extremely uncomfortable behind the wheel of it and I avoid driving it whenever possible. I don’t know what it is about that vehicle that I dislike so much. Nothing that I can really put my finger on. All I do know is that I just can’t stand it! But I guess it’s better than nothing if the need arises. However, I’ll be glad when that thing finally wears out and we can get something else. It doesn’t necessarily have to be new . . . it just has to be different!!!!!

HI, AARON & DR. BILLY!!!!! Aaron: How goes physical therapy? Well, I hope! Silly question 4 months after your birthday but . . . did you turn 36 in March — or 37 (like Dr. Billy just did)? I ask because I came across a note today with LMB’s birthday on it (that date is now in my calendar by the way . . . 2 this coming December!) and I had Dr. Billy down for 37 but when I looked back at yours, I find that I didn’t have the info either way. I don’t know how that part slipped past me! If it makes you feel any better about divulging that particular information, I’ll make you a promise: I’ll tell you mine if you’ll tell me yours!

    ;-)

Good evening, lightenup, lightenupjr., K.F.G., Susan, lindz.coop, rgcviper, gmforde, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, hendelca, Gator007, legaleagle48, mollie05, AnonaMona, soonergal, Willi Nilli, Bronzepony, millie p, Andi J, samfran60, Terri, janinabarnes, simpsonfan2, scrabblefiend, Wolf Emperor, Senex, GreggW, Molly mcgee, Hobbes (if you should happen to drop by) and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here tonight. As always, great to “see” you all. And to all the new people joining us this evening . . . WELCOME TO CATHY’S NUTHOUSE!!!!! ;-)

I can’t swim at all, so your dog paddling sounds amazing to me, Aaron! Glad to hear you’re still working towards a good recovery. It’s hard keeping up the motivation when other things are trying to pull you down, isn’t it? But when Billy does get to see you again, he’s going to be so proud of you, I’ll bet.

I’d try to avoid the cobblestones though, if I were you!

Oh, you’ll make it – you’re a determined sort of man, I think. Even on such a short acquaintance!

When I’m on my own I have two cats for company, which is fine, but they’re not so good at keeping me exercising. Dogs are better at that.

But try to keep cheerful. You’re getting stronger, you’ll be back to work before long – and Billy will be back too, which will give LMB an excuse for an even better workout!

Hi Cathyites!! My sentiments exactly — unless it’s cute like a Mini or a Cube. Also agree with scrabblefiend — the colors are blah — especially the GM colors (unfortunately, that’s who my hubby works for).

lightenup — I had a PT Cruiser and loved it — drove it into the ground at about 130,000 miles. Interesting that the Chrysler folks never ever liked the car and initially nicknamed it the PT Loser because of it’s appearance — (Gawd forbid it should look different than the pregnant toasters available everywhere in the US).

Aaron — I heard that tripe about apple stock — it’s amazing that now only do companies now have to perform in the gazillions, they have to meet stockholders “expectations” no matter how unreasonable. Keep up that good PT work, so you can get back to work soon!!

Being a guy, and a big car fan, I have to side with the salesman on this one.

We sure have a nutcase as our main character, don’t we?

I just left a late comment for yesterday as well. (I’m a day behind here.)
