Last company I worked for issued exercise monitors. They would reduce our health insurance costs if we walked or ran so much per day. We turned in the result each day. I put mine on a motion sculpture at work for a few hours. That sculpture rocked it back and forth. This was in addition to the two miles I ran in the mornings. My scam got busted when I forgot and left it on overnight…….they issued me a new monitor when I reported it lost.
Have one of those pedometers on my iPhone. I discovered a long time ago that just rigorous shaking the ‘phone increases your number of steps. At least this is sort of exercise. Haven’t worked out how to increase the number of floors climbed lol.
We got a treadmill at the office. We were encouraged to take our headset and laptop over to it and stroll for an hour shift. Not a whole lot of takers on that one.
I want my premiums reduced for using the medical library to point out the arbitrary, subjective, biased, and unproven measures used by the medical industry for marketing rather than “good health”. Happy trails!
Sad. Since I am retired and my parents are long gone, the only enthusiasm from my step totals was from my step counter. When its battery died I decided just getting out and walking around without any numbers was enough excitement for me.
My tactical response team (50 People in five squads, state wide) had a unique fitness incentive program. When we assembled for periodic training, the first morning we ran until 10% collapsed.

My wife and I got them for Christmas. They don’t work on the treadmill if you hold on to the handles, which we do for support.

As a bassist I mainly exercise my fingers and hands, but one day I filled in for the drummer and boy, did I get steps!
