sooner or later, the youngins will become pluggers with hard-to-understand phrases of their own to the next generation
Pluggers are incoherent. Got it.
Whaddya mean? I had no trouble understanding it at all.
One of my younger co-workers heard, for the first time, the phrase “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth,” & had NO idea what it meant
“I think Grandpa’s having a stroke.”
Idioms in any language. I’m trying to learn French. Same issue.
Sometimes young folks can be hard to understand ;-)
Try 3,640 Sundays.
Apparently, only pluggers understand pluggers :D
I liked the Hekawis’ unit of time of many moons ago. (Thanks to F-Troop)
The last decade of my career I learned to avoid common Shakespeare or Bible quotes around my Millennial co-workers. They would look at me like I was crazy.
“And being a puppy, I ate the grasshopper.”
Only to those that don’t speak in colloquialisms.
These sayings were popular in my neck of the woods.
Pluggers are easy.. compared to the shorthand abbreviations and emojis that the smartphone crowd uses.
“It don’t butter no parsnips.”
Too many metaphors spoil the soup.
By cracky, ’tis true!
Some of that Easter candy is fit to flop a lip over.
Twenty-three skiddo
Far out, man, I can dig it. Chill, dude.
this is the cat’s pajamas, really the bee’s knees…
if Yogi Berra were alive to read this, he’d be rolling over in his grave
A month of Sundays is only about 30 weeks.
I am such a Plugger.
