… because, you chowderhead, you have no idea that prime time for computer use at the library is afternoons right after school lets out. THAT’s when they’re jammed.
I live in Cobb County Georgia where there are sixteen tax supported libraries (not counting the city of Smyrna, which has a separate city library system).
At various times I’ve had occasion to use half a dozen of them, including three that I used almost daily when I lived in their respective neighborhoods.
Over a 20 year span, though there were plenty of computers, there was always a waiting list for computer access of one hour at a time… except for the first and last hours of the day when there were more computers than users.
Vito from Goshen has put a couple items on the board. The over/under on Honest Abe going blowtop is bringing in a lot of action. In a bold move, Vito has CK on the board as a no-show on bb/sb teams! Tremendous odds for the longshot- looking player, but Vito has some solid info. A wise guy talked to CK’s mom after she left her AA (Arsons Anonymous) meeting, and she mentioned moving to Montana to marry a Smokey the Bear impersonator. Would CK go? Wise Guy said the guy mopping the floor after the meeting sure looked familiar. Poor guy has to wear flame retardant clothes by court order.
On a completely different note, if any if you guys want to see sports in the comics, head over to GoComics and check out Apt3G in their vintage comics. You will find some beautifully drawn hands and a couple guys that look like they know how to throw and catch a football. Not much library action, though. And extra points if you can identify the car in P3.
This is going to be essentially a repeat of the “Hobart” story arc where a member of the school board tried to make the case that teachers are overpaid, right? What truly thrilling committee meetings those were!
It’s bad enough he has to go to the library to work (at night for some reason when he wasted the whole day watching soap operas and Maury), but then he has to look at that damn ZANE guy!
I wouldn’t call a few unused pc’s a massive tax drain. Especially since they don’t incur recurring costs. But what about the printer in the alcove? We didn’t even get to see it? Dang tease yesterday!
And speaking of teases, I wouldn’t be teasing if I told you that Mopped Up Thorp is now online.

How many of the chairs were occupied? How many of the books were being read?

“And when I checked again two hours after they closed none of them were in use! What a ripoff!”

Still waiting for arc to clarify, although at the moment it appears to be another generic clueless angry parent storyline.

In all reality , Honest Abe Brito for Library Trustee , I’ll bring On Line Wagering and Porn to library computers and put your tax dollars to work .

And the genius thinks the cost of a laptop is the library’s big expense.
It might even bring in money. Around here, the library overcharges to print.

If you’re Able Abe, why don’t you pirate off your neighbors feed? Abe reminds me of a young J. Jonah Jameson.

Sure, the library is always seen as a big revenue generator, right behind the sewers and the roads.

They only used four while I was there! That means they never use more.

P1, This Gomez Addams story is just filler until the baseball season starts in July.
P2, Mrs. Brito is beginning to look more and more like Grandmama. Soon they’ll have the entire cast of The Addams Family in this story.
P3, Looks like Gomez wants that open seat on the library board.
