I think this has become hounding. The comic strip may have taken their masks off but where I’m from it doesn’t matter if you’re vaccinated or not, you still must wear the masks and social distance. Where is the upside of getting vaccinated if one is still restricted to the same rules as when one was not vaccinated?
Current estimates for reaching herd immunity are between 70 and 85% of the population. That’s 230 – 280 million in the USA. So far 132 million have had at least one dose and of the known COVID cases 25 million have recovered (there may be more because of unreported cases). Thus we can count on 157 million out of 230 – 280 million needed to achieve herd immunity. About 20% of the USA population say that they will not get vaccinated. and another 17% are in a wait-and-see pattern. Interestingly a lot of people who don’t want to get the vaccines are anti-mask. They seem to be working against themselves. To those people I say, if you get the vaccine, the masks will go away.
No, they are not trying to control me, but I have found that anyone who thinks “they” are is, in fact, the one that is already being controlled. It is called PUBLIC health and must take precedence over so-called individual rights (which don’t exist, not in the way they’re being claimed to) lest we kill ANOTHER half a million Americans needlessly. At no time in our history has a disease been allowed to run amok as this one has, at least not since science has evolved enough to provide answers. We’ve had those answers for over a year, what we lack is the will and the leadership to overcome the “me first” attitude. As Mr. Spock so eloquently has said (will say?) “the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one.” It truly bothers me that this nation has gotten so selfish that we’ve forgotten that the majority are where the power is vested. Unless you – like a certain orange buffoon – want a dictatorship, that’s the only way it works. If DJT had only done what the public health scientists had advocated early last year, hundreds of thousands of Americans would still be alive and we’d be done with this pandemic. ’nuff said.
State I live at, a woman who just got hired for this company was reluctant to get that vaccine, the boss of the company is a requirement, they asked she said no she was fired. I heard a different facility at a Mental Health Hospital this young woman just got hired, this woman asked to study and would not, she was fired.
No, I don’t think anyone is trying to control me. What benefit is it to the “controllers” if I wear a mask? None other than to keep us both safer from the virus. Same for the vaccine. Yes, I’ve thought about it. How about you, Laura, give it some thought rather than just repeating propaganda. Sheesh.
I don’t like this story arc. It’s not funny. And it does feel like hounding. I’m vaccinated, but I didn’t need or want anyone to pester me. I weighed the known pros and cons, and made a decision I believed was best for me.
I have been vaccinated, but I weighed the known pros and cons first and made my decision. Why would people be reluctant to get the vaccine? There are many reasons. What about this one? Have government officials, including politicians and bureaucrats, proven themselves to be reliable and trustworthy? If people don’t trust them, they have no one to blame but themselves. Trust needs to be earned.

And Peterson will refuse and then regale the class with all the reasons why he won’t take the vaccine.

Message received, Robb. No one enjoys being beaten over the head with even the best of ideas, no?

Did you all ever think that maybe they are trying to control you? Think for yourselves. Quit being sheep.

They have to be wearing masks and standing at least 6 feet apart.
EVEN IF THEY WERE VACCINATED!!
They are endangering everyone else by not doing that!

Where he gets the idea anyone can be forced to (or tricked into) be vaccinated beats me.
