Hollywood has destroyed the good stories. These days, they only recycle old ones and butcher them. Hyper-concentrated highly corporate “art” production does that. The same happened to the music.

I remember back when: You had to wait until the end of a movie to know how things turned out. When all the actors didn’t look interchangeable. You could see a comedy beginning to end, without a single bathroom joke. Movies that were not about superhero. When you could achieve diversity, without simply remaking an older movie. changing the character’s sex or skin color……

I had a personal epiphany about visual media – whether in theater or at home the time commitment is the same when watching something. I’ve long known that apparently my tastes differ from critics so I am much more conscious of watching things I will enjoy watching – not things that are “important” or that I “need” to watch.

Problem is many movies make more abroad, so to appeal to a wide audience cross culturally they specialize in Gratuitous violence and sex.

I’m enjoying watching old favorite series and movies again. Some for the 3rd and 4th time

Isn’t this pandemic in itself living a horror movie?
