call me old fashioned, but when i look around a nice restaurant and see all these ijits eating a meal with hats on their heads i just don’t understand…
One of my favorite scenes is Tony Soprano giving his dead-eye stare to a jerk in a restaurant who had his hat on. It only took a few seconds.I wish I could do that.
Au contraire, more like: If you are the only one that DOESN’T take your hat off in a restaurant, you are a Plugger. I’m a Plugger and I never take my hat off in a restaurant, just push the bill up a bit and get down to business
It’s a sign of respect. Remove the hat or cap whenever you go indoors. Used to be cowboys only took their hats off in front of or when in bed with a woman but even that’s not always the case. For years now lowlifes keep their hats on, even at the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns. I was behind a couple of morons who even talked throughout it, let alone failed to remove their hats.
Another generational manner lost, just like saying thank you or holding the door open for a lady. Once lost, they can never come back. I hope that it was worth the supposed gain for the next generation……

Know of anyone who still wears their hat or cap in a restaurant as a patron therein?

If you were ever in the military you would remove your cover before entering.

My grandfather would, if you didn’t remove your hat indoors, knock it off your head.

I was on jury duty recently, the co-foreman wore a cap daily, no one said a thing to him.

If I took my hat off and you saw my hair, you would say put it back on right now.
