    My older brother and I didn’t try out for football; probably never crossed our minds to give it a try. We did play soccer and T-ball though he went a few more years of soccer after I quit.

    Actually, he has a point. I remember years (and years and years) ago when I was in my teens a guy came to my Sunday School class to talk. He was tall and very skinny — and the Free Safety for the St. Louis Football Cardinals.

    The best thing to happen to me was moving out of a small town after 4th grade. The entire male population of the high school was required to field a team. I know guys that had several spinal surgeries and joint replacements before they were 40.

    I am thin, but fast. I was talked into trying out for football in HS. I was fine until I did an over the middle pattern. I only remember the smelling salts. I stuck to basketball after that.
