Ironically, the atheists haven’t complained about Christians celebrating Christmas. They don’t even complain about us celebrating publicly. That’s mostly just some Christians who want the world to think we are persecuted when we are not.
This kind of atheist is responsible for that perception. They are a small minority, but sadly they are the ones who get the headlines. Whacko loons come in all flavors, secular and evangelical both.
@The Old Wolf: Excellent point! Many seem not to notice that there is a difference between Atheists, (who generally do not care what anyone else believes), & Anti-Theists posing as Atheists, (who cannot seem to tolerate anyone believing anything).
I’ve just started reading a book called “God is not great” by Christopher Hitchens, an atheist. Very, very well written. You can enjoy the prose without espousing the thesis. But he says, and my experience confirms this, that atheists do not want to destroy anything, whereas most religions seem to want to destroy all other religions; well, the various Christianities seem unable to agree on anything, whilst willing to talk (negotiate?) with anyone else.By the way, this seems to be the only comic strip to inspire serious comment rather than the usual “LOL”. Of course, I could be wrong about comic strips (and atheists).
This strip gave me the warm fuzzies. Political Correctness is for those in politics isnt it? Take it away from me because I am not political and I am a believer that Jesus is the reason for the season!
I guess you’ve never seen “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” have you? Not the over-done version with Jim Carrey, I mean the cartoon. What I gave was what the Grinch said after he’d stolen everything, but heard the Whos singing instead of crying. Think about it.

In some states, however, public school teachers are prohibited from saying “Merry Christmas” even outside their schools.

As a Christian, I resent stores using religious trinkets to sell unwholesome toys and too much food.

I love this one. See how happy they are. This way everyone, including Christians get to celebrate their Holy Days. (Holidays).
