This hits close to home. This weekend, I found out that the concert I was supposed to see in May 2021 (postponed from May 2020) will now take place in June 2022.
Around here we are already planning our Winter Carnival for Jan. 2022. We HOPE it will take place. We are trying to stage everything so we can pull the trigger in November to start the process for late January.
This past year I saw many more concerts of one of my favorite bands than I usually do. They did virtual concerts instead which meant I could watch them on my huge TV rather than hope they would come to my city.
Last year the local arts organization managed to safely pull off their art fair. Usually it is a 3-day event on the streets downtown, but that posed a problem of distancing and limiting crowd numbers. So they found a smaller venue where that could be done. The original tee shirts for the event were sent back to the printers to have Cancelled/Moved to… added. When the new venue cancelled all events, the organization quickly reimagined a one day event, featuring local artists. The fair was scattered all around the city, outdoors at artists’ homes and studios. Of course, a new tee shirt was designed for the resulting Artstreet 2020 Road Show. For the first time ever the names of the artists were printed on the back of that shirt. The participating artists, organizers, and patrons all thought the art fair was a success, given the circumstances. You can still support the organization, and get a tee shirt.

Blame it on the COVID situation despite COVID vaccine rollout! But there’s always drive-in concerts!

I missed Cirque du Soleil, Rage Against the Machine, and Hamilton due to covid last summer.

I didn’t go to that show and all I have to show for the no show is this T-shirt.

Where are all the COVID t-shirts? Surely they will be collectors items after the pandemic goes away. Surely … it will go away. Right?
