I have seen quotes from several coaches who say the best players are those who did not play only their “best” sport but actually played many sports.

So you’ve got one dad who wants his son to be Edgar Martinez and another who wants his son to be Herb Washington?

A good DH can make good money, but a pinch runner, not so much. They get one shot per game, max.

A child is not an extension of the parent’s ego!! They are not a surrogate for the parent’s dreams of glory! They are not pawns to be manipulated to suit the parent’s aims!

They are kids, playing kids games, with a kid’s view of the game. LET THEM HAVE FUN!! – Leave them alone and LET THEM BE KIDS!

And the mob of angry parents begins to form because this coach ‘is so unreasonable’… poor guy

Before analytics is through ruining the game, this nonsense above may come true. Someday, , some computer will spew out some drivel and, like football, we’ll see two platoon.

for the longest time, I thought all of those stories about Little League were jokes. Then I had a boyfriend who coached Little League. And I saw for myself – surreal. Is Pop Warner the same way?
