My family had lots of kids and we couldn’t afford fancy-shmancy stockings for everyone so nobody had them, we just literally used a sock out of the sock drawer. We didn’t have a fireplace either, so the stockings were just left on the table. We got plenty of stuff, even if it didn’t all fit in the sock.
