My grandson, raised on war and military “games” signed up for the Marines while he was still in High School… and shortly after, he began a count down on how many days he had left to “serve” till he got out!
Just need to be a little creative. My parents (and grandmother) got me my first computer and then encouraged me to learn how to make games. I had no idea it was a trick to get me to learn. To accomplish that goal, I self taught myself programming and some fairly advanced mathematics. When I hit college I was able to skip all the beginning and intermediate programming and math classes and go right into advanced classes my freshman year.
