My brother is divorced, BUT his ex and he agreed to have Christmas together with their grown children to show that the divorce was not because of dislike of each other but because they grew apart. That is the one time every year that everyone is together, including grandchildren. Seems to work for them. She still calls him when she needs help with something. They like each other better after the divorce.
