“<In this universe, matter can’t be created or destroyed”

Except for once, when the universe created itself about 12 million years ago. If we don’t believe that, then we are forced to believe in God. Also, life cannot spring from non-life, except once, when the first living cell was spontaneously generated from non-living matter. We have to believe that for the same reason.

In another time immortal was looked at as being remembered for ever not living forever .

Actually, it’s energy that can’t be created or destroyed. Matter is very destroyable.

You can’t destroy energy. Matter maybe, but not energy.

“Saints pour preservatives on us!” (Extra geezer point if you spot that reference).

Preservatives are what keeps our food from killing us.

In their universe matter is a pencil and eraser, a little paint or markers or a computer program.

Grace Slick said it best: “Natural food makes you slow and stupid and it tastes like rabbit shit. I don’t care if there’s chemicals in it as long as my lettuce is crisp. Preservatives might be preserving you all. I think that’s something you might have missed. Yeah, you missed it.” That was before she gave up drinking and became a vegan.
